Meet St. Helena’s new Interim Police Chief Tim Foley in an informal environment during two meet-and-greets.
- 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company, corner of Adams and Oak.
- 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the St. Helena Public Library, 1492 Library Lane.
Foley has more than 36 years of California law enforcement experience. Most recently, he served from February 2014 to April 2018 as police chief in Nevada City.
Prior to this appointment, he served as an associate and instructor for Cristando House, a certified Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) training company after completing approximately 33 years of service in the San Francisco Police Department.
His assignments in San Francisco included serving as Commanding Officer of the Training Division and Platoon Commander at various district stations in San Francisco and the San Francisco Airport. He also served as Officer in Charge of the Professional Development Section, Inspector and Sergeant of the Investigations Bureau, and Sergeant of the Patrol Bureau.
Foley earned his bachelor’s degree in Management from St. Mary’s College and holds numerous professional certificates, including the Executive POST Certificate.
