American flag flies over Highway 29

The St. Helena Fire Department raised its large Garrison-size American flag on a ladder truck Tuesday morning in memory of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people on Sept. 11, 2001. The SHFD has been raising its large American flag, which measures 30 feet by 20 feet, on Sept. 11 for more than 10 years. At the 9/11 memorial plaza in New York City, thousands of people attended services where the names of those people killed in the attacks at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and aboard Flight 93 were read.
