It is nearly noon on Tuesday and I have spent the last day and a half, since Monday morning, dealing with the Star’s letters to the editor. It’s like this every election season – you all want to get your message out to the public. This year’s election is important and not just because Mayor Alan Galbraith is facing a challenge from Councilman Geoff Ellsworth. Please look at your mail ballot – they were to be mailed on Monday – and vote. The election day is Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Reading today’s Star, and checking out our website online, you’ll see many letters, and it’s likely that not all of them made the print edition, because of space limitations. As a general rule, we’ll run all the letters online and as many as possible in print. Please, when you write a letter, make it brief.

The deadline for our political letters to the editor is 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, and the last day the letters will be published is Thursday, Oct. 25. I don’t expect to publish any election letters in the Thursday, Nov. 1 edition of the Star.
