If you ever find yourself craving a little bit of Broadway, you’re usually out of luck here in the Napa Valley. However, for one night only, you can be transported to the magical world of New York with amazing acts truly worthy of Broadway.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, come over to St. Helena High School’s Performing Arts Center, 1401 Grayson Ave. for the “Best of Broadway!”, a showcase of SHHS’s very best student talents.
You’ll find whatever you’re in the mood for at this show. Several of St. Helena’s shining stars will be singing show tunes. Acts also include a brilliant ballet solo as well as some original comedy sketches. If you attended last year’s “Sing for Sam” then you’ll remember a hilarious political sketch that you can expect to see the sequel for at Thursday’s event.
You may be asking yourself how much this wonderful excursion will cost you: only a $10 suggested minimum donation for admission! However, there will also be a SH Performing Arts sponsored gift card raffle in the lobby and a bake sale featuring all kinds of tasty treats that you won’t want to miss out on.
Not only this, but by attending this event and donating to the Boosters, you are helping send the drama department students to the Broadway Student Summit this spring. Wonderful director Patti Coyle will be taking 40 students to New York City in April to see three Broadway shows, including the fabulous “Dear Evan Hansen.”
Come watch some phenomenal acts, relax, and enjoy yourself, all while assisting the drama students in their dream of visiting New York City this spring. I will be running the spotlight. I hope to look down and see you there!
