Benefit concert for foster kids

Nashville recording artist John Tibbs will headline a benefit concert on Oct. 26 at the Hillside Christian Church, 100 Anderson Road, Napa. The concert, which will also feature Napa native musician Ashton York, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 online through, and $15 at the door. All proceeds will benefit Napa County foster kids and families.

Library book sales

Friends of American Canyon Library will host a three-day book sale Oct. 19-21 at the American Canyon Library, 300 Crawford Way. There will be a wide variety of books including paperbacks, hardcover, and children’s books, plus DVDs, CDs, and audio books. Sale hours are Oct. 19 from 12-8 p.m. (members only from noon to 2 p.m.); Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

City accepting grant applications

The city of American Canyon is now accepting proposals for Community Subsidy Grant funds until Oct. 18.

Grant application forms can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation Department office, 100 Benton Way, or online at Application forms must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Oct. 18. Late applications will not be considered.

4th Annual multi-cultural event Oct. 21

Helping Hand Indo-American will present the 4th Annual Multicultural Event on Oct. 21 from 4-8 p.m. in the Community Gym, 100 Benton Way. Raffles, sponsorship and silent auction will help raise money to provide books, school supplies, sweaters and shoes for children in India.
