Nathan Banks pitched three innings for the win in relief of starter Gustavo Ramirez as the American Canyon High baseball team downed visiting Bethel, 8-6, in Solano County Athletic Conference action Tuesday.
Banks allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits, a walk and two strikeouts, and Ramirez yielded four runs (one earned) on six hits, two walks and two strikeouts.
The Wolves (4-6-1, 3-2 SCAC) were led offensively by Cameron Peters (2 for 3, RBI, run), who had a big leadoff triple with the score tied in the sixth, Elijah DeGuzman (1 for 3), who had a two-run triple early in the game, Jordan Fisher (2 for 4, RBI, run), Jimmy Larson (1 for 1, RBI double), Noah Myer (1 for 3, double, run), Victor Vega (1 for 3, RBI), Freddy Tenbrink (1 for 4, run) and Ramirez (1 for 2, run).
The Wolves evened their SCAC record at 3-3 with a 265-294 road win over Bethel behind Brandon Giron’s fifth straight medalist score, 43, Tuesday at Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in Vallejo.
Rounding out American Canyon’s scores were Dylan Suguitan’s 51, Justin Andino’s 54, Myles Norris’ 58, Arsenio Villarimo’s 59, and Lemuel Jumamoy’s 63.
Riley Carlos got the win, pitching five innings and giving up just three hits and four walks while striking out four as the Wolves beat visiting Bethel 7-4 on Tuesday. Angel Cota earned the save, pitching the last two innings and giving up just one hit while striking out two and walking one.
Cota was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Angel Yee went 2 for 3 with a walk, stolen base and two runs scored, Kyle Racel was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, a walk and a stolen base, Antonnio Lawson went 1 for 1 with an RBI, Mason Brodit was 1 for 1 with an RBI, walk and run scored, Jacob Atanacio went 1 for 1 with a double, Wyatt Stribling was 1 for 3 with a run scored, and Vinnie Espejo added a walk and RBI. Ryan Mitchell had two walks and a stolen base.
