North Bay Rebels 10U baseball tryouts June 17, 24

The North Bay Rebels baseball organization is starting a new 10-and-under travel team for players in American Canyon, Napa or surrounding areas who were born between May 1, 2007 and April 30, 2008. The Rebels have 12 openings for “hard working, mature, highly skilled, well-rounded players that can play multiple positions and who are interested in continued learning and improvement,” for a team that will play this summer. They will also consider 9-year-olds (born between May 1, 2008 and April 30, 2009).

The Rebels already have 12U and 13U teams, and plan to have the 10U team play in an average of two tournaments a month from August through November, with practices during the week and weekends.

Tryouts will be on the Sundays of June 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and June 24, from 12 to 2 p.m. Tryouts will be at the American Canyon High junior varsity softball field, which can be accessed by taking the first left after the American Canyon Road-Newell Drive intersection. Players should bring their own gloves, bats, helmets, cleats and water. Tryouts will begin with stretching, throwing warm-ups, then a series of fielding, batting, throwing and running drills.

A pre-registration form should be filled out at bit.ly/2M2ZEpp before a player attends a tryout. Players who are unable to attend either tryout should still be registered; a coach will be in contact to schedule a private tryout.
