Great music and a great cause come together on Sunday, May 20, when vocalist Kellie Fuller teams up with a band for a Swinging Jazz & Blues Organ Concert that benefits the non-profit Tucker Farm Center in Calistoga.
The band includes Wayne De La Cruz on Hammond B3 organ, Larry Vuckovich on Roland Organ, Chris Pimental on guitar and Kent Bryson on drums.
All proceeds from the concert go directly into the general fund that is earmarked for improvements at the Tucker Farm Center, a community center that has served Napa Valley residents for nearly 100 years.
The mix of music covers swinging standards, bebop classics, funky boogaloo as well as Latin/Brazilian selections.
Doors open at 3 p.m. and show time is 4-6 p.m. at the Tucker Farm Center, 1201 Tucker-Summit Road, Calistoga. Tickets are $25 in advance at brownpapertickets.com. A limited number of tickets will be for sale at the door, and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Residents of Napa Valley have enjoyed a long history with the Tucker Farm Center, which has hosted countless educational farm meetings, 4-H Clubs, dances, recitals, plays, fundraisers, baptisms, weddings and other events in service to the community.
After decades of use, the Tucker Farm Center needs physical improvements, including new siding, a new roof, a commercial kitchen, remodeled restrooms, parking lot repairs and landscaping.
“Take part in the restoration of this historic site simply by enjoying a care-free afternoon of feelgood music with your friends, knowing you are helping keep the Tucker Farm Center vibrant for future generations,” said Tucker Farm Center board member Cheryl Stotler.
