Raha Razavi, a St. John's Lutheran School 8th-grader, received the St. John’s Lutheran’s 2018 Champion of Character Award. 

Razavi received the award after participating in the Lutheran Elementary School Tournament (LEST) hosted by Concordia University held Feb. 15-17 in Portland, Ore.

More than 900 students representing 17 schools from four western states and Canada participated in academic, athletic, music, and performing arts events.

This award is presented to one student from each school that participated in LEST who showed exceptional character qualities of respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, integrity and servant leadership.

During LEST Raha represented SJL on the school’s dance team (second place) and the cheer team (third place). She also performed with the SJL Vocal Choir (first place), and in a vocal ensemble (first place). She also captured second place in the 8th-grade spelling competition.
