Frank Henry Schnell, II died peacefully just shy of his 80th Birthday in Marin County on August 15, 2017. He was survived by his partner, Joanne Merjano, his brother, Paul M. Schnell, his three children, Frank Henry Schnell III of New Orleans ,his wife Nylene “Ginger” Schnell, his daughter, Susan Fayard of Mandeville, Louisiana, her husband Mark Fayard, his daughter Kathleen McDonald of Napa and her husband Robert McDonald and his five grandchildren – Lauren Martinsen, Isabella “Bella” Martinsen, Audrey Fayard, Max McDonald and Olivia “Ollie” McDonald. Frank was born on September 16, 1937 in New Orleans to Frank Henry Schnell, Senior and Estella Bollinger. He was a graduate of St. Paul’s in Covington, Louisiana. Frank had life long friendships with classmates from St. Paul’s. Frank founded and owned the Maison Orleans nursing home in Arabi, Louisiana and the San Carlos and Portola Valley Florists in California. He was the owner and founder of the groundbreaking Plantation Coffee House, a successful small business and popular community gathering place in New Orleans. Frank retired to Napa and was a loved paratransit driver for many years in Calistoga and St. Helena. He could often be found sharing photos and stories of his children and grandchildren
