Gretchen Lynn Stinnett peacefully passed away on December 2, 2017 at the age of 82 in Napa California.
Raised in Kenwood California during the depression. She was the daughter of Ernest and Grace Rothert of Kenwood who were both teachers. She met her husband Charles Blake Stinnett while attending Santa Rosa JC. Shortly after completing their associates degrees, they transferred to UC Berkeley to complete their teaching degrees and remained ardent Cal Bear fans. After a career in teaching Home Economics, English and History at Napa High School, she was the owner operator of a bed and breakfast, was the vice president of a local winery and was committed to her Anglican Church Family of St. Stephens in Oakville.
Gretchen is survived by two of her three children, Amanda DeBord of Yountville and Andrew Stinnett of South Lake Tahoe. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2008 and her eldest son Tom in 2012.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held February 10th, 11am at St. Stephen’s in Oakville California. A gathering of friends and family will be held immediately after at the club house at 6600 Yount St., Yountville, CA.
