James Edward Shipp passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Jim was born and raised in Napa, California to Clyde and Gertrude Shipp. He had three bothers and two sisters.
Immediately after graduating from Napa High School, where Jim excelled at football, he began his career at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, where he eventually retired. He rose to the position of sheet metal foreman working on submarines.
Jim enjoyed camping (Hole In The Ground near Mineral, Ca. was his favorite), fishing, and spending time at their cabin with his family making very special memories. Jim was an extraordinary handyman spending many hours in his garage where he could fix or repair anything. He also liked to do research on his computer and became the go to person for any questions.
Jim and his wife spent joyous amounts of time traveling throughout the country, much of it in their RV. His pride and joy were his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife Peggy, one brother, two sisters, daughters, two son in laws, grandchildren, and of course, the rambunctious Macy and Darrell.
