It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James ‘Jim’ Dalton Ward. Jim passed away at home on October 7, 2017 with his wife of 11 years at his side. Jim was born and raised in Napa, where he lived his entire life. He is survived by his wife Lyne and four children: Emily Ward of Long Beach, CA, Benjamin Ward of Napa, Emmy (Keith) Joseph of Vacaville, CA and Anthony Duffy Hopkins of Napa. He is also survived by his Brother Richie (Kathy) Ward of Vacaville, CA, his best friend and adopted brother Eddie Solis of Napa, and his adopted Aunt Charlotte (Richard) Derrick of El Sobrante, CA. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, numerous adopted children and grandchildren.
Jim was loved by all that met him and he always left a positive impression on other people’s hearts. Everyone that knew Jim recognized his happy go lucky spirit and his raspy Elvis voice. He was a devoted loving husband and father and he will be greatly missed.
He worked at Napa Valley College and retired from the Veterans Home as a sanitation engineer in Yountville. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He also enjoyed music, Disneyland, reading books, golfing, his dogs, and sports. Jim is a loyal Raiders fan and knows they will win the Super Bowl under his guidance.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Gerald Ward, mother Evelyn Faulk, brother Jerry Ward, and sister Donna Ward. Jim is busy watching over his loved ones from up above and taking his brother Jerry to their favorite past time: baseball games.
The Celebration of life will be taking place on November 17th 2017 in Napa, Ca. Exact time and location TBD.
