Kenneth Kunza, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side, on February 5, 2018. He was 87 years old. Born in Harvey, Illinois on February 17, 1930 to Mr. John Kunza Sr. and Mrs. Martha Mcclain-Kunza. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in Tokyo for some of his four years in the military. In later years, the one place in the world he wanted to see again was Japan.
In 1958 he relocated in Fremont CA and worked for Lockheed. In 1968 he moved to Angwin and worked for the Postal service. Then in 1980 and until he retired, he worked for Sonoma County as a school maintenance person. Upon retirement he enjoyed the country life in Grants Pass, OR, complete with a great dog, a motorcycle and country music. In recent years he and his wife moved to Napa to be close to his daughter. He will be remembered for his very kind heart, his gentle ways and his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly. his daughter Charleen Davidson, his son-in-law Bruce Davidson, his grandchildren Jessica Davidson and Michael Davidson. He also had seven nieces and nephews: Betty Richetti, Linda Hovey, Marty Scallerup, Sandy Kudsi, John Kunza III, Pam Serabian and Patti Lohse. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lillian Scallerup, his brothers John Kunza Jr. and Robert Kunza. A private graveside service at the Golden Gate cemetary is planned.
