Liona Lee Cottrell
Liona Lee Cottrell passed away Monday January 22nd, 2018 at the Napa Valley Care Center in Napa California with loved ones by her side. She was 89.
Liona Lee was born to Henry Edgar Britt and Violet Jacquetta Choate on September 2, 1928 in Danville Arkansas.
She lived and attended school in various locations before graduating from St Anthony’s Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado in 1967.
After nursing school she moved to California where spent the next 15 years working as an LPN at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Santa Clara. Once retired she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
She loved nature and animals and believed the best things in life were free.
After seeing her Uncle Bruce serve in the United States Army during World War 11 where he became a POW and survived the Bataan Death March she had a huge heart for our veterans and donated to their cause throughout much of her life.
She is survived by son, Lt Col James Bacchus, and wife Linda, daughter Cindy Martin-Simpson and husband Tom, daughter Sally Stanley, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jacquetta Allison and son Britt Lausten.
In honoring her wishes a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
