Mickey Dean Dugan passed away on January 5, 2018 after a long illness. He was born on July 16, 1935 in Poteau Oklahoma to Andrew and Opal Dugan.
The Family moved to the Bay Area when Mickey was 7 years old settling in Richmond California. Mickey moved his young family from Richmond to Napa when he started working for Kaiser Steel. Over the years he held many positions with Kaiser Steel where he eventually ended up as the Fabrication Shop Manager. He was in charge of many big projects including building parts of the underwater tubes for BART as well as parts of the Trans America Building in San Francisco. These projects were all built in the fabrication shop and loaded onto barges to go down the Napa River, out to the bay and be delivered to their respective locations. Mickey retired from Kaiser Steel after 20 years with the company.
After a short retirement Mickey returned to the work force as Shop Supervisor for XKT Engineering. He moved on to work for Ogletree’s in St. Helena as Production Supervisor, officially retiring in 1999.
In 1992 he met the love of his life, Janice. They had many wonderful years together starting in Napa, moving to Lake Berryessa where they built a home, one of the things he always wanted to do. They moved to St. Helena in 2004 where they resided until his passing.
Mickey is survived by his loving wife Janice, his son Brady (Melody) Dugan of Pope Valley and his stepson, Brent (Jessica) Koen of Napa. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Dugan of Pope Valley, Jessica Dugan of Santa Rosa, Jenna Vesper of Portland OR, and Andrew Huggins of Roseboro NC., Tyler Koen, Adleigh Koen, and Beckett Koen all of Napa. He has 3 great grand children, Aiden Dugan, Ayla Dugan and Avery Dugan all of Pope Valley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Opal Dugan and his daughter, Kari Ann Huggins.
