Where do your donations go? Search charity data and find out

  • 1 min to read

Salvation Army bell ringer Scott Brawley, of Erie, collects a donation from MaryBeth Smith, of Erie, in front of the Hobby Lobby store in Summit Township.

With the holiday season under way, charitable donations are on the rise. But how do organizations use their funds?

Data compiled by Charity Navigator — a non-profit dedicated to ranking charities — looks at a charity’s performance. They focus on two areas: financial health and accountability/transparency, compiling a rating based on a score of 100 for each category and a overall score.

Use the search to find a organization by name, donation or Charity Navigator overall score. Use one or multiple criteria to better understand each charity uses its funds.

All ratings, amounts and information from Charity Navigator.
