Two dozen people were booked into the Napa County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence over the Thanksgiving holiday, Napa County jail bookings show.
There were 16 in the county last year, jail records show.
This Thanksgiving, over the four-day holiday, California Highway Patrol officers arrested 13 people on suspicion of driving under the influence in Napa County, CHP Officer Jaret Paulson said Tuesday. Officers with Napa, American Canyon and St. Helena police made the other DUI-related arrests, according to the jail bookings.
Statewide, CHP officers arrested 1,419 drivers on DUI between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 p.m. Sunday. This was 8 percent more than for the same period in 2009. CHP reported no fatal collisions in the Bay Area. Last year, the CHP reported five deaths in the Bay Area for the same period.
