2 injured in head-on crash that closed Highway 12 in Napa

  • Updated

Two motorists were hospitalized Wednesday night after two cars collided head-on on Highway 12/121 north of Haire Lane near the Sonoma County line, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The collision occurred shortly after 9 p.m. and shut down the two-lane highway for 90 minutes, the CHP said.

A 2017 Lexus driven by Tracy Bell Redig, 63, of Novato was traveling northbound when it drifted into the southbound lane and collided with a southbound 2009 Toyota driven by Casey Lee Quadrelli, 30, of Santa Rosa, according to the CHP.

Redig, who sustained major injuries, was arrested for investigation of DUI at Queen of the Valley Medical Center, CHP said. The hospital reported that Redig was transferred to another facility for further care.

Quadrelli, who sustained moderate injuries, was also taken to the Queen for treatment, the CHP said. He was later released, the hospital reported.

A third vehicle, a northbound car, was also involved in the crash after the head-on collision, but the driver was not injured, the CHP said.
