A body found in a Sonoma County creek on Sunday was that of Aaron Winokur, 51, of Napa, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday afternoon.
His cause of death is still unknown, but the Coroner's Office found no signs that he was killed, according to a sheriff's statement. Toxicology results are pending.
Winokur was found fully clothed, on his back, by nearby residents just before 10 a.m. on Sunday. His body was quite decomposed and appeared to have been in the creek bed for some time, according to the sheriff.
Detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit were initially called to the scene in case of foul play.
Next of kin has been notified, according to the sheriff's office.
