A 29-year-old Citrus Heights man was arrested early Sunday morning after his car struck a Jeep stopped at the intersection of Highways 29 and 12, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The CHP said Edgar Ivan Rivas was southbound on Highway 29 at 1 a.m. when his Chevy Malibu hit the back of a Jeep driven by Alexis Lopez, 18 of Napa.

Both motorists sustained minor injuries.

Rivas was booked into the Napa County jail for a possible charge of DUI causing injury.
