A Napa man was hospitalized and arrested Tuesday night after crashing his Audi into a tree while driving under the influence, the California Highway Patrol said.

Clark Carson, 25, was alone, driving southbound on Old Sonoma Road., south of Congress Valley Road., at about 10:20 p.m. He veered off the road and plowed into a tree, causing major damage to the front of his vehicle, the CHP said. 

Carson sustained major injuries and was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center, where he was arrested by the California Highway Patrol for suspected driving under the influence.
