From Our Readers: Cats of Napa County 2019
Aug. 8 is International Cat Day. To celebrate, we asked readers to send in photos of their favorite felines, so we could create an online photo gallery to salute the cats of Napa County.

Gypsy and Goku

"Gypsy is 2 years old and a super fluffy black kitty. lovable on her own terms she is very selective on who she lets pet her! Goku is a 1 year old sweet sleek black panther with a white “ascot” on his neck; he prowls the house like he owns the place. They get along most of the time, but like all brothers and sisters they have their moments of fighting and bickering. "Tinkerbell was born a barn kitty and lived a long happy indoor life. Her memorable life moments include traveling the state with us in our trailer, and jumping out the trailer door one night in Santa Cruz. Fortunately she didn’t go far, and she was back home safe within an hour. she crossed the rainbow bridge last year at the lovely old age of 14, and is dearly missed by all of us." -- Ginine Blue, Napa

"Oliver Belle was one of my college best friends. When I moved to Las Vegas for school, I became very isolated and lonely. Ollie came to me during a typical Vegas summer flash flood- when running up to my apartment I could hear a kitten crying. I found her hiding in the engine compartment of a nearby parked car. I thought she was pure black until I gave her a bath and discovered she was all orange! She is one of 2 cats I rescued while living in Vegas. Her favorite food is sand which turkey, and her favorite spot is whatever chair my fiancé is sitting in." -- Cieara Blue, Napa

"My name is Meowlcolm Reynolds, and I am the center of the universe!! I was rescued outside of a pizza shop in Napa. My mom met me at the vet’s office I was brought to for assessment and took me home to “foster” right away. What she didn’t know what that I didn’t plan to leave! I love wearing sweaters and fancy collars. Mom says I am a cat, but I am pretty confident I am a person.
