House saved from vehicle fire in St. Helena

A vehicle fire on Monday on the 1700 block of Dean York Way in St. Helena. Firefighters saved the residence.

St. Helena firefighters saved a home on the 1700 block of Dean York Way when they responded to a vehicle on fire in a residence’s carport on Monday, according to St. Helena Police.

The occupants were out of the home when police arrived and one of the residents was attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose, police said.

Firefighters arrived within minutes of the call, which came in about 9 a.m., to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames, St. Helena Fire Department officials said.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
