Loaded firearm and $6,500 in COACH merchandise found in American Canyon

A 33-year-old San Pablo man was arrested on Saturday after police found him with 11 purses, seven wallets, four backpacks and two totes from COACH in addition to about 12 bags of marijuana and a loaded .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol, according to American Canyon Police.

Keith Alvin Davis was approached by police conducting a vehicle check outside the 7-Eleven on Rio Del Mar about 2:45 p.m., police said. Davis was among a group of people associated with two different vehicles in the area, police said, one of which had open containers of alcohol as well as marijuana inside of it.

More than $6,500 in COACH merchandise – all new with tags – was found in the trunk of one of the vehicles. Police said they located marijuana and the loaded pistol inside one of the backpacks. It was determined that the items belonged to Davis, who was the only one of the group to be arrested.

Davis was booked at the Napa County jail on suspicion of carrying a loaded firearm in public, possession of marijuana for sale, and having an open container of alcohol while driving.

Police are investigating whether or not the COACH merchandise is stolen and, if so, from which store.
