Forum will discuss healthcare, senior services, fraud prevention
Senator Bill Dodd, D-Napa, will host a public forum in Napa on Friday, Sept. 28, to address important issues facing seniors – from healthcare to fraud prevention – and to inform people about the services available to them.
A panel of experts from government agencies and advocacy groups will give presentations. Attendees will be able to ask questions about state and local policy as well discuss issues affecting elders.
“Seniors can be a vulnerable population and it is essential that we care for them and provide them with the services they deserve,” Dodd said in a news release.
One of the speakers, Frank Nelson, a senior healthcare advocate serving six counties, including Napa County, will talk about major changes to Medicare in 2019 that could affect eligibility.
The forum will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Napa Senior Center social hall, 1500 Jefferson St.
