Napa County school districts close for the week due to local wildfires

The Napa Valley Unified School District has cancelled classes and athletic events for the rest of the week, including Friday's football game and homecoming festivities, spokeswoman Elizabeth Emmett said Tuesday.

Napa Valley College announced Tuesday that it would cancel classes for the remainder of the week, though it will continue to offer its gym as a shelter for fire evacuees.

The Napa County Office of Education reported Tuesday afternoon that Calistoga Joint Unified School District, Howell Mountain Elementary School District, Pope Valley Union Elementary School District and St. Helena Unified School District schools would be closed for the rest of the week. 

All Napa County Office of Education programs will also be closed through Friday 

St. Helena Montessori School reported the school will also close for the remainder of the week.
