The unemployment rate in Napa County was 3.6 percent in December, up from a revised 3.3 percent in November and below the year-ago estimate of 4.6 percent.
This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.2 percent for California and 3.9 percent for the nation during the same period.
The number of people looking for jobs in Napa County dropped from 3,300 in December 2016 to 2,600 this December. At the same time, the number of workers in the county rose from 70,900 to 71,800.
Napa County employers with the most job ads in December included: St. Joseph Health, Target Corporation, Napa Valley Unified School District, Robert Half International, Wyndham Hotel Group, Wyndham Worldwide, St. Helena Hospital, Auberge du Soleil, Las Alcobas and Silverado Resort and Spa.
Napa County has the 13th lowest unemployment rate in the state. San Mateo county has the lowest rate, at 2.1 percent.
