The Democrats of Napa Valley group has designed an all-day workshop for becoming a citizen lobbyist. The workshop seeks to encourage and cultivate skill-building for residents so their voices can be heard at the local, state and federal levels.
The one-day program is designed to help people communicate their message by mail, email, letters to the editor, phone, in-person and via social media.
Organizers have enlisted professionals in persuasive communication, including elected officials such as Napa County Supervisors Diane Dillon and Ryan Gregory, Mary Luros, candidate for Napa City Council, and Sharon Macklin, founder of Progressive Women of Napa Valley.
The workshop will be Feb. 24, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Napa Women’s Club, 218 Franklin St., Napa.
Seating is limited. To sign up, go to https://secure.actblue.com/donate/lobbyist. There is a cost of $10 for lunch and materials.
