The Napa Fire Department will host an open house next month to teach residents about fire safety.

The event, dubbed Fire and Life Safety Day, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station #1, 930 Seminary St.

Visitors will have the opportunity to strike a pose next to a fire truck, watch firefighters use the jaws of life, and tour the fire station and dispatch center where 911 calls are received.

There will be a bouncy house, games, refreshments and a free Halloween costume exchange.
