Trancas Street at Claremont Way was temporarily closed on Tuesday while officers investigated a wreck that killed the single vehicle's two elderly occupants at the intersection last week, according to Napa Police.

Two people were taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center after the collision, which occurred at 3:43 p.m. Nov. 7. Police were informed Monday that the vehicle's occupants, Donald Gray, 91, and Emily Gray, 90, both of Napa, died from their injuries.

The Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Team went back out to the scene Tuesday for further investigation.

Police determined that the vehicle was heading eastbound on Trancas Street when it left the roadway and crashed into a traffic signal at the intersection.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor, police said.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Officer Aaron Medina at 707-257-9560.
