A suspected cocaine dealer and Napa resident was arrested on Thursday after selling cocaine to undercover officers, according to the Napa Special Investigations Bureau.

NSIB officers purchased cocaine from Armando Aguilar Ortiz, 45, two times in the last two months, once in a parking lot in South Napa, officials said. Aguilar, who was travelling from Fairfield back to Napa, was detained during a traffic stop on Jameson Canyon Road on Thursday. Officials said that, while being transported, Aguilar had unsuccessfully attempted to hide an ounce of cocaine in the police car.

During a search of his home on Geraldine Court that same day, officers located evidence of cocaine sales including 26 individually wrapped bags of cocaine and three digital scales, officials said.

Napa County Sheriff's Office deputies assisted in the investigation.

Aguilar was booked into Napa County jail on suspicion of selling cocaine and possessing cocaine packaged for sale. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
