Dennis William Land, a descendant of pioneer Napa families, passed away March 17, 2010. The St. Helena native was born Aug. 12, 1937, to William and Anita True Land. He attended local schools, graduating from Napa High School in 1955 and later receiving his Associate of Arts degree from Napa Junior College.

In the late 1950’s he joined the U.S. Army as a military policeman and served at Fort Ord and later in Frankfurt, Germany. For many years he worked the Lake Berryessa region as a park ranger for Napa County, retiring in 1989. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement years by working part time with his friends at Pridmore Brothers Construction Company as well as gardening, hunting, cooking and baking bread, which he generously shared with family and friends.

He leaves behind his father, William Land, brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Linda Land, a nephew, Christian Land, and many friends. Private services will be held. Memories and condolences may be sent to the family online at Treadwayandwiggerfuneralchapel.com.
