George Lincoln Watts, resident of American Canyon, passed away peacefully on June 2, at the age of 87, after a long illness. His wife and family were at his side. George was born in Millbury, MA, to Rudalph and Doris Watts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dorothy Garas Watts; three brothers, Harold, Paul and David Watts and granddaughter, Heather Redding.
He is survived by his second wife, Donna Lass; three children, Lesley Squires, Ian and Brenda Watts, Mary and Richard Standridge; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
George was a WWII Veteran. After years of service training recruits in Submarine Service, he retired from the Navy Reserves as a CPO.
George moved to American Canyon in 1955, and started work at Mare Island as a Ships Electrician. He retired from Administration in 1980.

George’s dedication to his long military and civil service careers, leaves us all with an example of patriotism and self-reliance that will not be forgotten. He was a gentle man, kind and witty; and will be missed by all who knew him. George enjoyed tinkering around the house, reading, travel to his beloved Hawaii; as well as the Southwest and cruising.
Private services will be held at a a later date. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Saturday, June 20. For information please contact Fairfield Funeral Home or the family.
