John Calvin Harberts, 85, long time resident of Napa, passed away Thursday, May 3, in Hilo, Hawaii."Cal" was the first of six siblings born to Dr. and Mrs. William Harberts in Wisconsin, Sept. 1, 1915."Cal" is survived by his wife, Catherine Campbell, whom he married in 1942; his son, Phillip William Harberts of Northridge; his daughter and son-in-law, Candis Harberts Coleman and Robert H. Coleman, of Marin; his son, Dan Campbell Harberts, of Napa; grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, David Calvin Harberts, who was killed in an auto accident in 1964. He leaves a loving circle of extended family and friends in the Bay Area and Hawaii."Cal" and his wife traveled extensively over their 59 years together. After settling in Hawaii, where he and his family lived for ten years, he headed up sales organizations including Hawaiian Memorial Park and Mililani Memorial Park. In 1961, "Cal" returned to Napa with his family and purchased the old Bubbling Well Ranch on Atlas Peak Road. He was a pioneer in the Pet Cemetery business and established Bubbling Well Pet Memorial Parkin 1971. He and his wife spent the last few years of their retirement in Hilo, Hawaii.
