Merle Wayne Moody, 75, went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2012, after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 14, 1936, in Johnstown, Pa., to Edwin Moody and Elberdia Lear.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Creekside Community Church in Napa, with Pastor John Fernandez officiating. A celebration of Merle’s life will follow the service at the Napa Valley Mobile Home Park Clubhouse.
Merle was a member of Grace Church of Napa Valley.
Merle worked as a union electrician out of Local #180 for 43 years. He started working as Basalt Rock in Napa. He then worked at nuclear power plants in California, Wyoming and Pennsylvania. He worked for 15 years at Rhodes Jamison in Pleasanton, California and then retired from Zeco Electric.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife across the U.S. with their fifth wheel in tow, taking in many sites, memories and adventures. Merle served in the National Guard and Army Reserve.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Virginia; three children, Debra (Moody) Erickson, Robert Moody and Tracy Moody; six grandchildren, Janelle, Bradley, Marc, Virginia, Dylan and Benjamin; and many extended family and friends.
