A 26-year-old Napa man was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and vandalism after a stand-off Monday night, according to Napa Police.

Officers were called the 2600 block of Brown Street at 6:33 p.m. for what was described as a “threats call.” The suspect, Robert Chase Hamilton, armed with a hunting knife, was allegedly banging on the front door and demanding entry, police said. The occupants, who were known to Hamilton, had been threatened by him earlier in the day, police said.

Hamilton eventually shattered the sliding glass door at the back of the residence, police said. Officers set up a perimeter at the scene, but Hamilton continued to make threats, and refused to comply with officer commands. He finally dropped the knife and gave up after K-9 and less lethal projectile warnings were made.

Hamilton was arrested and booked at the Napa County jail on suspicion of resisting arrest and vandalism.
