Police: Man arrested for DUI following multi-vehicle wreck in Napa

A 26-year-old man was arrested after allegedly drunk driving, causing a multi-vehicle wreck in Napa on Friday night, according to Napa Police.

Officers who responded to the report of a four vehicle wreck at the intersection of Trower Avenue and Highway 29 at about 8 p.m. found the driver of the first vehicle, Philip Joseph Maxson, responsible.

Maxson appeared to be intoxicated and was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center, where it was confirmed that he was over the legal limit, police said.

Another driver involved in the collision was also transported to the hospital, but for moderate, non-life-threatening visible injuries to the head.

Maxson was arrested and booked at the Napa County jail on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury.
