A Napa man detained late Saturday night on a drunken driving allegation faces a felony allegation of resisting arrest, according to police.
At 11:17 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Manuel Ricardo Gonzalez-Diaz, 25, for a traffic violation in the 2000 block of Maria Drive, according to Sgt. Todd Shulman. The driver ran out of the car and hid behind it before being detained for suspected driving under the influence, Shulman said.
After being placed in a patrol car to be taken to the Napa County jail for booking, Gonzalez-Diaz began kicking at the vehicle and threatened to kill the officer who had arrested him, according to Shulman. On his arrival at the jail, he was additionally booked on suspicion of resisting police.
