A 23-year-old Napa man suspected of being under the influence of drugs was arrested after not complying with officers early Wednesday night, according to Napa Police.
Detectives recognized Ricardo Navarrete-Galvan, who was sitting in a vehicle parked on River Glen Drive, from a recent police contact and approached him. As they spoke with him, detectives observed signs that Navarrete-Galvan was showing signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance and asked him multiple times to step away from the vehicle.
When he did not comply, detectives grabbed his wrists and put him in handcuffs. While police searched him, Navarrete-Galvan “violently pulled away,” attempted to kick a detective and grabbed a loaded gun magazine off a detective’s vest, police said.
A handgun and used glass meth pipes were found in his vehicle, police said.
Navarrete-Galvan was arrested and booked at the Napa County jail on suspicion of felony resisting arrest and misdemeanor drug charges.
