Two Napa men were arrested in Vacaville on Friday after trying to burglarize a home while the homeowner was still inside, according to Vacaville Police.

Jacob Grant, 39, and Matthew Allen, 37, entered the home on the 100 block of Colony Way after obtaining the key from a lockbox they had broken from the residence, police said. The homeowner called the police immediately.

Grant and Allen were contacted and detained by police on the front lawn of the residence. They were found to be in possession of a light blue Toyota Prius with Oregon plates that had been reported stolen, police said.

Allen was arrested on suspicion of auto theft, being in possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation violation. Grant was arrested on suspicion of burglary as well as a probation violation.
