Napa police say a woman who appeared to be making a drunken, public scene bit a police officer in the leg as she was being put into the police car.
The alleged incident happened at 8:20 p.m. Sunday. Police responded to G and Brown streets for a report of an outdoor disturbance by a male and female, Sgt. Mike Walund said. The man, identified as the boyfriend, said the woman was drunk and acting out.
As the investigation was wrapping up, the woman raised a fist at officers. Officers placed her in handcuffs. She bit and scratched an officer, though the officer didn’t require medical attention, Walund said. Police had to restrain her legs to keep her from kicking.
The woman refused to be tested for alcohol, and police obtained a search warrant for a blood test. They booked her into the Napa County jail on suspicion of battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and being drunk in public, Walund said.
The woman’s name is either Mizraim Montero or Mizriam Montero – police were uncertain of the spelling of the first name – and she is a 26-year-old Napa resident, Walund said.
