A 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery after stealing alcohol and other merchandise from Safeway on American Canyon Road on Wednesday night, according to American Canyon Police.

During the alleged theft, store employees attempted to grab the shopping cart full of merchandise from the woman who then assaulted them, police said. The woman, identified as Bernice Davis, 47, of Vallejo, then grabbed one employee’s cellphone and threw it down, damaging it, to stop them from calling police, police said.
