Police: Woman stabs guest at American Canyon birthday party

An Anaheim woman attending a birthday party in early Thursday morning stabbed another guest with a kitchen knife, American Canyon police say.

Two Southern California women were arguing outside the American Canyon home in the 200 block of Pinecreek Lane when one of them was stabbed in the arm, Chief Oscar Ortiz said. She was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Responding at 3:30 a.m., officers arrested Daisy Adame Atondo, 26, who was found about a block away, on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The knife was found in the living room next to a mattress, Ortiz said in a statement.

Party guests identified Atondo as the assailant, police said.

Atondo was booked in the Napa County jail on $50,000 bail.
