Sheriff: Man arrested for alleged DUI, hit and run following crash in Am Can

A 37-year-old American Canyon man was arrested on suspicion of committing a felony hit and run while intoxicated after allegedly striking a motorcyclist from behind and fleeing the scene, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

Maynor Manolo Martinez hit the unidentified motorcyclist with his vehicle near the intersection of American Canyon Road and Broadway in American Canyon at about 8:10 p.m. Thursday, Capt. Steve Blower said. The motorcyclist reported the vehicle’s license plate number to dispatchers while a witness followed Martinez’s vehicle back to a nearby residence, Blower said.

The motorcyclist was injured, Blower said, but the severity of those injuries was not known Friday morning.
