A free all-day conference on how to keep children safe emotionally, the dangers of addictions and the sexual issues that confront youths will be held April 13 at Napa Valley College in Napa.
One panel led by Mary Butler, Napa County's chief probation officer, will discuss youth suicide. The panel will include Chaplain Lee Shaw.
The keynote speaker is Christina Baird, author of "How Far Will I Run?", who will talk about overcoming childhood traumas.

The conference starts at 7:30 a.m. with registration and a light breakfast. Presentations will start at 8:30 a.m.
Lunch will be offered, with a choice of afternoon workshops.
