Trinchero Family Estates has donated $250,000 to the Napa Valley Community Foundation for its fire relief fund, President and CEO Bob Torkelson said Tuesday.

Although firefighters are making good progress containing the blazes, he said, "we are keenly aware that this is only the beginning as we anticipate a long, hard road of rebuilding for many of our neighbors and some of our own team members who have been displaced or lost homes."

The company said it would also do a two-to-one match of any employee donation to its "Family in Need Fund," which assists Trinchero employees.

"Our tasting rooms will remain closed for the next few days to help limit activity on the roads as we continue housing and providing meals for first responders at the Sutter Home Victorian Inn as we’ve done since last week," he said. "We are extraordinarily grateful to the first responders who continue the fight to save our communities."

As of Monday, more than 3,400 donors had contributed to the Community Foundation's relief fund, raising more than $2.5 million.
