Police officers are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman found dead Monday afternoon inside an apartment in central Napa.

The pair was found at about 2:30 p.m. during a welfare check at the Glen View Apartments in the 600 block of River Glen Drive off Soscol Avenue, according to Napa Police Lt. Debbie Peecook.

“We don’t know how they died,” said Peecook at 6:15 p.m., as police officers waited for a search warrant to enter the second-story apartment, which had been blocked off with yellow tape. “We’re investigating this as a suspicious death,” she said.

It is unclear when the man and the woman were last seen at the apartment complex. Their relationship is unknown.

A woman in an apartment next to the manager’s office declined to comment on the incident.

Napa Police sent out a public notice stating police would remain in the area for “several hours.”
