The Women’s March provided actions steps to take during the first 100 days following the inauguration on Jan. 20. Writing postcards, setting up "huddle" meetings, contacting our representative in Congress are among some tasks set before us. Thus, were surprised to see a new action arrive in our e-mail box: A Day of Dinners.
On June 25, thousands of people all over the U.S. will open their hearts and homes to start a new conversation about the country we want and the future we're working for. This is a unique opportunity open the dialogue with others, dig deeper, ask the hard questions and to listen to each other in new ways.
If you’d like to host or to attend a gathering go to dayofdinners.org. Day of Dinners is a chance for thousands of us -- families, neighbors and strangers -- to come together, share good food, and get real about building deeper, stronger communities.
Perhaps you could invite your neighbors and acquaintances over for a potluck. Sharing a meal opens the conversation. We recognize differences. We find common ground. Together, we can move toward a respectful and meaningful interaction that gives value to the moment. Join us. Namasté.
