Thank you Dr. Nemko and the Napa County Office of Education board of trustees for your professionalism, integrity and diligence in following the process to review appeals. I appreciate you, Dr. Nemko, for reaching out to the community through you letter to the editor on May 10 explaining your team's obligation, findings, decision and for your continued support of all students (Reversing the expulsion").

It pains me the appeal even came to your office as Dr. Sweeney and the NVUSD Board of Trustees had been communicated to several times regarding their lack of compliance following Ed Code along with several other instances of not being student-centric, creating a safe climate, and not following board and administrative policies.

I appreciate that we do have a leader of education in Napa who leads with integrity, transparency and who supports the educational process outlined by the California Department of Education.

Thank you for being a steward of education and ethical leadership for our county and for correcting the mistakes of our NVUSD leadership. When leaders in education go rogue, it hurts the students and creates distrust, dis-engagement, loss of credibility and impacts the safety climate. We are facing this now with our district leadership and is extremely disappointing.
